A circular hike along forest and woodland paths to the legendary Teufelstein at 1,498 m above sea level - a place of power with magical views of the Joglland-Waldheimat region.

The hike up to the legendary Teufelstein leads from the high-altitude climatic health resort via the Untere Halterhütte and Teufelsteinhütte up to the power place. The panorama from the Teufelstein extends from the Hochschwab across the Veitsch and Rax to the hilly landscape of Eastern Styria and Graz's local mountain, the Schöckl. Via the Alpengasthof Schanz, the Alpannonia long-distance hiking trail takes you back to Fischbach. On hot days, you can cool off in the cool water at Freizeitland Fischbach after the hike.

We start at the hiking starting point in Fischbach, which is right next to the municipal office.
We follow the road until we turn right onto the Höhenweg after the grocery store.
We follow the path with the numbers 7 and 736 or the signs of the hiking route "From glacier to wine" to the lower Halterhütte.
From here, follow the Mariazellerweg (06B) to the Teufelsteinhütte and up to the Teufelstein.
Once at the top, continue along the Mariazellerweg in the direction of Alpengasthof Schanz.
Once you reach the Alpengasthof Schanz, follow the 06B trail and the Alpannonia markings to the Zeller Kreuz.
From the Zeller Kreuz, follow trail no. 8 via the Gmoa back to the village of Fischbach.

Hikers should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time.
Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest.
Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest!
In principle, every person in the forest is allowed to collect 2kg of mushrooms and berries per day for their own use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.

Route description
Before starting the hike, check the possibilities for refreshments, including opening times, or pack appropriate food and drink.

A special tip is the natural spectacle of the winter solstice. On the Sunday before Christmas, many people hike up the Teufelstein at sunrise.
