The leisurely hike, over forest and meadow paths, leads from the town center of Fladnitz an der Teichalm to the "Schachner", a rustic snack bar on the Fladnitzberg.

This tour starts in the town center of Fladnitz at the Teichalm and leads via the Vital-Hotel-Styria, the "Wiesenweg" up to the Fladnitzberg to the Schaffer family's rustic snack bar, cf. Schachner. Here you get a great view over the Passailer Kessel and to the Schöckl, Graz's local mountain. Once at the top you can either continue hiking to the Teichalm or go back to the town center via path no. 8 or path no. 756.

In Fladnitz there are also several places to stop for refreshments, a beautiful park and a cozy outdoor swimming pool for tired hikers.

Fladnitz/T., town center

We start in the town center of Fladnitz an der Teichalm and walk via the parish church to the Vital-Hotel-Styria
At the Vital-Hotel-Styria we turn right into “Wiesenrunde, path no. 1”.
We reach the Marterl on Schmalzl Weg and turn left on the asphalted road and follow it
At the left-hand bend we turn right into the forest path
Before the pasture (fenced) turn left onto a narrow hiking trail
At the asphalted road (Schitterweg) we turn right towards the farm
We walk past the farm and continue onto a meadow path
We follow the hiking trail for about 600m and keep left
At the next junction we turn left – follow the signs
At the Wiesenfleck (larger intersection) we turn right onto the hiking trail - follow the signs
At the forest road we turn left onto Fuchsweg, which leads to Teichalm-Landesstraße (L320)
We cross the state road and reach a forest path in the meadow
We hike through the forest and along the edge of the forest to the Schaffer vlg snack station. Schachner
After the snack station, we walk about 200m next to the state road and then turn right onto the forest road into the forest
At the intersection we turn left and walk about 700m through the forest towards Teichalm
We reach the state road again, cross it and pass the Marterl
We follow the forest road and turn right at the “Weinwegkreuz” and thus reach hiking trail no. 8
We follow path no. 8 to the asphalt road (farm) and turn left onto path no. 756
We follow path no. 756 (asphalted road), past the Schönkreuz in Fladnitzberg
After about 700m, in the settlement area, turn left and continue to follow path no. 756 (asphalted road) and follow the path into the town center to the starting point.

Shortcut: The route can be shortened at the end at hiking trail no. 756 towards Vital-Hotel-Styria via the “Pallerleiten” (path no. 5 and Wiesenweg).

Route description
Before starting the hike, check where you can stop for refreshments, including opening times, or pack suitable provisions.

A rustic snack and a cool dip are a must at “Schachner”.
