St. Kathrein am Offenegg

One of the highest wind turbines in Europe is located at an altitude of 1,400 m directly on the Summeralm. The wind turbine is a prominent landmark visible from afar. After several lightning strikes, the old wind turbine was dismantled and a new one was erected by Energie Steiermark. This new wind turbine has a height of 118 m and a rotor diameter of 126 m.
