This tour takes us from Mürzzuschlag over Bärenkogel and Ganzalm to Pretul. The descent follows either the same route or one of the alternative trails in the Wind+Bike Park Pretul.

The route is open to bikers from May 15 to October 15. Please follow the general guidelines for responsible behavior!

In 2017, the wind park on Pretul was inaugurated. In collaboration with the Austrian Federal Forests, the Wind+Bike Park Pretul mountain bike trails were opened. These trails can be ridden either as a circular route or as individual tours.

The individual route described here takes us from Mürzzuschlag over Bärenkogel and Ganzalm to Pretul, finishing at the Roseggerhaus.

S6 Semmering Expressway, exit Mürzzuschlag Ost.
Free parking is available at the entrance to Ganztal and in Mürzzuschlag city at the Bräuerteiche parking lot.

We start our tour in Mürzzuschlag at the town square or in Mürzzuschlag-Ganz. In the Ganz area, we turn right onto the paved road, which leads us to the parking lot at Bärenkogelsattel. From there, a forest road takes us directly to Ganzalm. At the Naturfreundehaus, we have the opportunity to take a break and recharge.

About 50 meters after the Naturfreundehaus, we reach a trail junction:

Left leads via the Ganzweg towards Moschkogel.
Right continues straight towards Amundsenhöhe.

We choose the right route, heading towards Amundsenhöhe, continuing to Pretul and the Roseggerhaus.

During a break at the Roseggerhaus, we can decide on our return route:

Continue via Pretul to Schwarzriegelalm or Moschkogel.
Descend back into the valley using the same route.

A few requests – nature and wildlife will thank you, and your biking experience will be even better:

Stay on designated trails!
MTB access is permitted from May 15 to October 15, starting two hours after sunrise and ending two hours before sunset, and is at your own risk.
Do not leave any waste behind!
Hikers and pedestrians have the right of way!
Ride responsibly and maintain a safe distance and speed!
Use only a well-maintained bike!

A few tips for safe mountain biking:

Check your bike after every ride, including tire pressure, spoke tension, and brake pads.
Always wear a helmet for every mountain bike tour.
Plan ahead and pack essential equipment: warm clothing, rain and wind protection, a repair kit, a first-aid kit, and a fully charged mobile phone.

Stop for a break at the huts along the route and enjoy some well-deserved refreshments!
