From Mürzzuschlag city center, this tour takes us through Au into Tiefental. Following the marked route, we reach Scheibe.

At the destination, the Scheibenhütte, we are rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view of Mürzzuschlag and the Mürztal valley.

We ride from Mürzzuschlag city center through Mürzzuschlager Au towards Mariazell and turn into Tiefental. Following the marked route, we head directly towards Scheibe.

As we get closer to Scheibe, the climb becomes steeper and more challenging, so it's important to pace yourself wisely!

Coming from Vienna:
Take the S6 Semmering Expressway and exit at Mürzzuschlag West. Turn left and take the first exit at the roundabout towards Mürzzuschlag, following the road. After approximately 1.8 kilometers, turn right before the traffic light and park your car at Mürzzuschlag town square.

Coming from Graz:
Take the S6 Semmering Expressway and exit at Mürzzuschlag West. Turn left and drive to the roundabout. Take the first exit right towards Mürzzuschlag, following the road. After approximately 1.8 kilometers, turn right before the traffic light and park your car at Mürzzuschlag town square.

In Mürzzuschlag city center, there are several paid and free parking options available.

From the parking lot, we follow the R5 cycle path into Mürzzuschlager Au, riding until we reach the intersection with the Mariazeller Straße (main road). Here, we cross the road and turn into Tiefental on the opposite side.

We continue on the forest road, which climbs steadily and mostly runs through the forest. As we approach the Scheibe, the ascent becomes steeper and more challenging.

At our destination, the Scheibenhütte, we are rewarded with a beautiful view of Mürzzuschlag.

Stay on designated trails!
MTB access is permitted from May 15 to October 15, starting two hours after sunrise and ending two hours before sunset, and is at your own risk.
Do not leave any waste behind!
Hikers and pedestrians have the right of way!
Ride responsibly and maintain a safe distance and speed!
Use only a well-maintained bike!

This tour can be ridden with a mountain bike or an e-mountain bike.

Bike Safety & Equipment Tips:

Check your bike after every ride, including tire pressure, spoke tension, and brake pads.
Always wear a helmet for every mountain bike tour.
Plan ahead and pack essential equipment: warm clothing, rain and wind protection, a repair kit, a first-aid kit, and a fully charged mobile phone.

Tip:

A basic tool kit with spare tube and/or patch kit, wrenches, air pump, brake and shift cables, and a screwdriver can always come in handy!

A visit to the 'Raxblick' is highly recommended, where you can enjoy a great view of the Rax Massif.
At eBock on Mürzzuschlag's town square, you can rent e-mountain bikes.
