The five kilometer long AB Trail in the Bikepark Aflenz is a colorful mix of natural single trail, dredged flow sections and short north shore elements.

The 500 meters of altitude are divided into three sectors, each separated by a few meters of road.

The Bikearena Aflenz is open from mid-May to the end of October. During the season, the double chairlift takes bikers up the mountain on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (operating times of the double chairlift at www.aflenzer-buergeralm.at).

The use of the trails in the Bikearena Aflenz is free of charge. Those who ride the chairlift to the top can choose between single ride 10,- (adults), 6,- (children) or day ticket 20,- (adults), 15,- (children). Season ticket for mountain bikers: € 200,- for adults / € 150,- for children.

Infrastructure: self-repair stations and bike-wash

Gastronomy: Almrauschhütte on the Bürgeralm, Wirtshaus Pierergut (www.wirtshaus-pierergut.at) and Liftstüberl at the valley station of the double chairlift.

From the south: On the S35 to Bruck, from there on the S6 to Kapfenberg and further on the B20 to Aflenz Kurort.

There are enough parking spaces at the bottom station of the double chairlift.

The first section starts naturally and winds through the forest with a few curves. If you want, you can even take a jump or two here.

A section on the road follows before you come to section two of the AB Trail. This was created by excavator and impresses accordingly with flow. The berms ride well and you can build up a lot of speed. The speed rush does not last long, however, because after just a few meters the forest floor pushes its way under your cleats again. This is also the steepest section of the entire trail, followed by a northshore element.

After the next section of forest road, the last section of the AB trail begins. Here you can really step on the gas again in the forest and enjoy jumps and speed.

The road between the individual sectors offers beginners the opportunity to bypass individual sections.
