A true winter hike, ideal for combining with a toboggan descent. The tour takes you to one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the region, high above Bruck an der Mur. The mountain hut at the summit plateau is open on weekends!

First, we need to reach the Pischkalm or the parking lot there (limited parking availability in winter, depending on snow conditions).

To get there, we drive from Bruck an der Mur via Glanzgraben on a forest road (snow chains required!) until we reach Pischkalm (barrier, parking).

Then, we follow the mostly cleared forest road or, depending on snow conditions, the marked hiking trail to the mountain hut at the summit plateau of Rennfeld. From there, it’s just a few minutes to the large summit cross.

The return journey follows the same path as the ascent.

From Vienna, take the A2 South Motorway and S6 Semmering Expressway to the exit for Bruck an der Mur. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Leoben. After 100 meters, turn left at the first traffic light (signposted "Weitental"). Now, keep right, pass under a railway and motorway, and continue past the cemetery to the parking lot at the start of the Weitental. N 47.40398° O 15.27535°.

From Graz, take the A9 Pyhrn Motorway and S35 Bruck Expressway to the exit for Bruck an der Mur. Continue as described above.

From the West (Linz, Salzburg, Germany), take the A9 Pyhrn Motorway and S6 Semmering Expressway to Bruck West. Here, turn left at the motorway exit and drive to an intersection near a furniture store. Turn right and proceed through the Bruck district of Oberaich, just before the aforementioned roundabout. At the traffic light, turn right (signposted "Weitental") and continue as described above.

Pischkalm - Hiking trail or wide forest road to Rennfeld - Mountain hut - Rennfeld - Summit.

In suitable snow conditions, the described tour is also ideal as an easy ski tour for families and/or beginners.

It is easily accessible to Bruck an der Mur, but there is no public transportation connection to Pischkalm.

There are parking spaces at Pischkalm, but in winter, the number of spaces is limited due to snow conditions.
