This hike takes us to the "high north" of Krieglach. From Krieglach Sommerberg, the trail leads over Hocheck to Malleistenalm and finally down to Krieglach town center.

S6 Semmering expressway, exit at Krieglach. At the roundabout, take the exit for Krieglach. Follow the main road to Krieglach town center, and turn right at the Alpl junction. The road leads you through the main square and under the railway underpass, then up to Sommerberg and the Oswaldbauer mountain inn.
Free parking is available at the Oswaldbauer mountain inn.

The starting point of our tour is the mountain inn Oswaldbauer on Sommerberg. We follow trail 481, which steadily ascends over Höllkogel and Veitschegg, leading us to Hocheckalm. At Hocheck we now take trail 484, which leads us past the Nikolauskreuz to the Malleistenalm. From the Malleistenalm, a forest road takes us to Krieglach, merging with an asphalt road around the height of the Annerlbauer mountain inn.

Refreshment stop at the Malleistenalm hut. Enjoy a delicious alpine snack with a wonderful view of the Mürztal mountain range.

Take the train to Krieglach, then continue by taxi to Sommerberg.
