A small biotope loop south of Altenberg an der Rax, ideally combined with a visit to the Climate Change Trail. The Montanrundweg and the Montanarum Mining Museum are also nearby.

Dry stone walls, a wetland biotope, and a hedge – the Path to Diversity takes us through the biodiversity of the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park.

More information

From Mürzzuschlag via Kapellen to Altenberg an der Rax. The trail is located about 500 meters south of the town center.

From the entrance sign, follow the circular trail (you will need to cross the local road once) and walk along the signposted hedge back to the starting point.

Not far from the trail is the Climate Change Trail in Altenberg an der Rax, which fits the theme perfectly. The famous Neuberg Abbey with its impressive church is also nearby. The trail is ideal for school groups.

The Montanrundweg and the Montanarum Mining Museum are also just a short distance away.

Take the ÖBB train to Mürzzuschlag, then continue with RegioBus line 189 to Altenberg an der Rax.

Parking directly at the starting point of the circular trail. Please keep the bus stop clear!
