From Mariazell on the B 20 to Wegscheid, in Wegscheid turn left onto the L 113.

Journey time Mariazell - Niederalpl: approx. 25 minutes

Parking lot directly on the pass Niederalpl

From the pass Niederalpl on the long-distance trail 405 we walk about 20 minutes to the Wetterinalm (Sennhütte). The first part on a narrow path across the meadow, then on a forest road to the hut.

At the Wetterinalm we branch off to the left, then we continue for about 40 minutes to the summit cross at 1,530m.

From the summit cross you have a very beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

tip for reporting an emergency - give answers to the six W-questions: What happened? How many injured? Where did the accident happen (possibly GPS coordinates)? Who is reporting (callback number)? When did the accident happen? Weather at the accident site?

Proper backpacking makes many things easier: pack heavy things first. The water bottle should always be within easy reach in a side pocket. All things that are often needed such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map belong on top.

An emergency kit belongs in every backpack!

A clothing according to the "onion system" is always recommended!

A good hiking boot is a good companion and should never be missing on the mountain!Do not forget a blister plaster just in case!
