This easy hike leads from the barrier in Kaiblinggraben (Waldbauer) directly to the Kleinveitschalm at 1,430 m.

From Kleinveitschalm, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain landscape.

S6 Semmering Expressway, exit Mitterdorf. At the roundabout, take the exit towards Veitsch. Follow the road into the Veitsch Valley and turn right at the Dorfveitsch signpost. Continue along Klein-Veitsch-Straße until you reach the Kalch junction, then turn left into Kaiblinggraben. Drive to the parking area near the barrier.

We start our hike directly at the barrier in Kaiblinggraben (Waldbauer barrier). The well-marked trail No. 477 leads us past the Waldbauer hunting lodge and through the Anhangtor to the Kleinveitschalm, where we reach the Grundbauernhütte (Halterhütte).

The same trail takes us back down into the valley.

Don't forget sturdy footwear and rain gear, just in case!

Refreshment stop at Grundbauernhütte.
The hut is open from mid-May to the end of October, Fridays from 12:00 PM, as well as on weekends and public holidays.

Take the train to Mitterdorf station, then continue by bus into the Veitsch Valley.
