The Fegenberg Circular Route (Energy Mile) is accessible year-round and is a popular hike for all age groups.

We hike on well-cleared paths as well as municipal roads through a beautiful winter landscape, enjoying the lovely views.

This popular circular route takes us along a 7.3 km marked path to Fegenberg, where there is an alpaca enclosure with an attached farm shop. We then continue via Fölz and return to the starting point. Wrapped up warmly, we enjoy the deeply snow-covered winter landscape.

From the north: Via Mariazell and Seeberg on the B20
From the east: Via Semmering on the S6 to Kapfenberg and then continue on the B20

There are various parking spaces in the town. These are clearly marked.

Starting from the panorama board in the Kurpark, we follow the marked path (Energiemeile 3) through the park and continue on the hiking trail towards Lammerbauer. At the trail junction, we follow the signs into the Fölz and walk a stretch of the road downhill. The trail leads us further up to Fegenberg via a forest path. From there, we follow the path downhill into the Fölz, cross the road at the panorama board, and walk past the "Milchhüttl" to return to Aflenz.

We recommend comfortable, ankle-high footwear with a good sole (possibly with shoe spikes) and trekking poles.

In the farm shop at Fegenberg, alpaca products are sold. The shop is open at any time by telephone appointment (0664/10 46 478).

By train to Bruck/Mur or Kapfenberg and from there take the bus to Aflenz Kurort. Line 171 (Bruck/Mur - Aflenz - Turnau) or Line 172 (Bruck/Mur - Aflenz - Mariazell). For more information on trains and buses, visit www.oebb.at and www.verbundlinie.at.
