By mountain bike to the Schwaigerhütte on the Stuhleck

We start our MTB tour at the Spital am Semmering municipal office. Here we cross the main road and turn into Kaltenbachstraße, which leads us into the Kaltenbachgraben. Past the middle station of the Stuhleck ski lifts and the Promibahn cable car, the official mountain bike route begins at the end of the Promibahn car park.

We follow the forest road past the Gaisschlager Mühle and take a sharp right here to the Friedrichhütte. This road leads us in serpentines over the ski slope to the Friedrichhütte, which is open every Friday - Sunday until 6 pm from mid-June to the beginning of October. We continue along the forest road and keep right after around 1.5 kilometres, reaching our destination of the Schwaigerhütte a little later. We cycle the same way back to the starting point at the Spital am Semmering municipal office.

A few more requests - nature and wildlife will thank you and the bike experience will be even more beautiful:

• Please stay on the designated paths!
• Riding on the MTB trail is permitted from 15 May to 15 October 2 hours after sunrise and up to 2 hours before sunset and is at your own risk!
• Please do not leave any rubbish behind!
• Hikers and pedestrians have priority!
• Please ride responsibly and at half speed!
• Please only ride a technically sound bike!

Tip: A basic set of tools and accessories such as a spare inner tube and/or repair kit, spanner, air pump, brake and gear cable and a screwdriver are recommended!
