Johannes Brahms – the renowned composer, pianist, and conductor – also appreciated the beauty of the region and spent his summer holidays there. Now it's your turn to take some time and discover the Green Heart of Austria! Explore the green forests, alpine pastures, and the peaks – from there you will have a magnificent view of the Mürztal, the Hochschwab, and East Styria.
Equipped with a hiking map and a backpack filled with plenty of provisions, you will climb up high: In the alpine pastures, you will discover wonderful spots where you can enjoy your packed lunch. Don't forget your picnic blanket! Spread out the blanket, come into harmony with nature, and enjoy a short nap right in the meadow.

The 3-star guesthouse of the Rothwangl family is an ideal place to relax. In the middle of Peter Rosegger’s Waldheimat you are in the best hands and can spend a wonderful holiday. Peter Rosegger already knew how to appreciate and love his home country – the wonderful landscape with hiking trails and mountain bike trails make the region a real insider’s tip.
The inn has 19 rooms with 45 comfortable beds – single, double and family rooms are available. From a culinary point of view, Hannes, the chef of the house, will spoil you with delicious dishes. You will find regional but also international delicacies on the menu. Let yourself be seduced by the hearty dishes. Depending on the season, tasty dishes from asparagus to sponge and game are served. The house is generously designed – dining room, guest room, Roseggerstüberl and the hall on the 1st floor offer enough space. Other Highlight is the Kellerstüberl with wine cellar, where you can taste selected wines during a wonderful tasting.

You have the opportunity to catch fresh trout in the in-house fish water on the Mürz.
