A self-catering hut in picturesque landscape. In dreamlike idyll, the Tonion Hut in the Mürzsteger Alps offers a place to recharge. Nestled just below the summit of Tonion (1,699m), the hut’s namesake, one experiences here a wonderful fauna and flora, fantastic views of the surrounding Mariazell region, and unique experiences. Caves and shaft dolines make the area interesting for spelunkers and climbing enthusiasts. Location: 1429 m, on the Tonion - Alpine ground

Niederalpl - Wetterin - Weißalm - Herrnboden - Tonion summit - 4.5 hrs.
Frein - Gschadt - Königsalm - Buchalm - Herrnboden - Tonion summit; Descent from Tonion summit to Tonion Hut - 30 min.
Winter tours: ski area, ski tours, and descents to Fallenstein.
Available for rent year-round from Monday to Friday. During the time from Pentecost to the end of September, this hut is managed by the Nature Friends of Gußwerk on weekends and holidays.
Suitable for family stays, spelunkers, climbers, fully furnished. Washroom and WC in the hut.
