Information
Arrive and feel at home - or come back from the mountain and rest. In our alpine inn, day-trippers meet climbers, young meet old, athletes meet connoisseurs.
The historic inn is filled with new life: lovingly, down-to-earth, a bit wild, and quite in love with the mountains. With a lot of passion, we will start in 2026 with a spicy mix of years of hut experience from Hochschwab and the local inn culture.
The Almgasthof Moassa is located amidst the forests and mountains of the Mürzsteg Alps on the south side of the Rax in beautiful Styria.
Surrounded by this beautiful nature, we offer you classic Austrian dishes with seasonal surprises and an ideal vacation spot - also as a perfect starting point for climbers.
After an eventful day in nature, you will find the peace and relaxation you need in one of our five newly designed rooms.

Contact & Directions
The Almgasthof is located five kilometres away from the Kapellen – Preiner Gscheid – Reichenau an der Rax road and can be reached by car.
Coming from Mürzzuschlag, take the L23 towards chapels, but turn off before the village towards Preiner Gscheid. After a few kilometres turn left into the road to the inn.
From the Lower Austrian side you can get from Reichenau an der Rax via the Preiner Gscheid to the road.
