The Pirker family opened the new erLebzelterei right in the centre of Mariazell.
Mariazell’s famous honey Lebkuchen are made here by masters of the art according to recipes handed down from one generation to the next, just as they have been for over a century.

Over more than 3,500 square metres of space, visitors experience the traditional craft of Lebkuchen baking, from rolling out the honey-rich dough to filling, topping and decorating the Lebkuchen.
Creative confectioners add greetings to colourful Lebkuchen hearts and decorate them with flowers or company logos, using icing to create true works of art.
Dunking, coating and drizzling the Lebkuchen in chocolate is not to be missed!
And that’s not all.

Visitors follow the whole process, from mixing the dough all the way through to sorting and packing – an experience that can’t be had anywhere else in the world. Of course, along the way you’ll get to taste different kinds of Lebkuchen and learn all about the history and traditions of the sweetest of crafts.
