Schneealpenhaus

The Schneealpenhaus is an alpine refuge of the Austrian Alpine Association in the Mürzsteg Alps in the Styrian-Lower Austrian border area. It was opened in 1925 and has been enthroned on the Schauerkogel at 1788m above sea level ever since.

May it be our legendary oven roast? A hearty beef soup with cheese dumplings? A hearty snack? Or something sweet? ...We cook honestly and genuinely ... every dumpling is hand-rolled, the strudel is hand-drawn, everything is homemade ... only the best ingredients come directly from local farmers and producers in our pots. We know what's inside and know our suppliers personally ... true to the motto: "The good is so close"

In addition to our hut classics, we also want to provide variety on our menu with seasonal highlights and changing vegetarian and vegan dishes.

You can enjoy our delicacies on our panoramic veranda or on the rock terrace.On cooler days, the rustic parlor with its heated stove invites you to linger.
