The hut is located directly on the pilgrimage route to Mariazell and is therefore a popular destination for pilgrims and hikers.

The hut on the Rotsohlalm can be reached from the Scheiklalm (Pretalhof turnoff, 6 km on the public road to the Scheiklalm, parking space) on foot in about 1 hour.

A worthwhile circular hike leads from the Scheiklalm to the Rotsohlalm, on to the Turnaueralm and the Rauschkogel to the Rauschalm and back to the Scheiklalm. The Scheiklalm is also run as a hut with a bar.

The physical well-being in the two huts is well taken care of. We market our own products such as beef and venison, blackberries for sweet cakes and liquor, as well as our own spirits and gin.

On August 15th every year the traditional Almmesse takes place on the Rotsohlalm.
