Greifvogelschau - Burg Oberkapfenberg

The castle terrace of the Burg Oberkapfenberg features excellent wind and thermal conditions. This allows for nature-friendly free flights of eagles, vultures, condors, and more to become a spectacular experience. Multiple birds of prey also fly simultaneously, an experience that is rarely found elsewhere in Europe. From early April to late October, on Wednesdays through Sundays, at 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. (exceptions see castle calendar).

Tip: After the flight show, you can tackle the 10-minute ascent to the Lorettokapelle and to the base of the mountain and nature watch Kapfenberg.

For a big or small hunger, enjoy the castle culinary offerings of Kranawetter directly at Burg Oberkapfenberg or visit the restaurant Prieselbauer, located about 5 kilometers away, with great cuisine, a petting zoo, and a large playground.

Experience the falconry days at Burg Oberkapfenberg – a 6-hour interesting, educational, and unforgettable program awaits you. From theoretical information - hunting, breeding, raptor science, laws, diseases, care, history to a bird of prey show including lunch and drink.

The castle falconry offers photo shoots with birds of prey such as snowy owls or falcons as well as animal sponsorships with certificate and annual pass.
