Das E-Werk der Stadt Bruck an der Mur

After not even a year of construction, the city of Bruck shone for the first time in its new electric lighting at the end of December 1903.

In the following decades, the electric plant and its operations grew with the increasing demand for electric energy.

In 1922, the power plant was separated from the administration of the city along with the saw and water mill and the funeral home, and placed under a unified commercial management as a municipal enterprise.

From 1940, the company developed into a versatile service provider in the fields of industry, trade, and commerce.

In 2004, the power plant received a modern visitor information center equipped with high-tech for its 100th anniversary, offering spectacular views of the five unchanged generators.

To visit this, the municipal utilities ask you to contact them directly and arrange an appointment for a tour.
The visitor room cannot be accessed alone.

In 2011, the municipal utilities Bruck an der Mur were transformed into a GmbH, with the city being a 100% shareholder.
