Tag des Denkmals - Georgibergkirche
Su., 27.09.2026 from 09:00 o'clock
On September 27 is Heritage Day
It is no longer a secret that Georgiberg was inhabited during the Copper Age, in the 4th millennium B.C. This was revealed by archaeological excavations conducted by the Joanneum Provincial Museum from 1995 to 1998. The “sancti Georgii in monte," one of the early sacred buildings of the Mürztal on the cliff edge of Kindberger Georgiberg, was mentioned for the first time in 1232. Today, the church is privately owned and has been properly maintained by the Kindberger Georgiberg Association since 1994.
