Kaltenbach Open Air - The Metal Mountain calls again in 2026

The legendary Kaltenbach Open Air – Austria's most renowned Extreme Metal Festival – is entering its 19th round. As in previous years, the event will take place in the Styrian municipality of Spital am Semmering. In the unique setting of the Kaltenbach Gorge, metal fans from near and far will once again ensure a great atmosphere for three days.

However, the Kaltenbach Open Air enjoys increasing popularity not only due to its location; the event also impresses annually with a high-profile billing. Whether international heavyweights or interesting newcomers, from August 20th to 22nd, 2026, the bands will make the gorge tremble and celebrate the festival weekend with you appropriately.

PARKING AND CAMPING

Parking and camping only within designated areas
Private area for caravans, motorhomes, etc.
Camping areas open from Wednesday 15:00 to Sunday 15:00
Parking and camping at your own risk; any liability on the part of the organizer is excluded; parking fee 10 EUR per car
Unlimited bringing of drinks and food to the campsite
Trash deposit 5 EUR per person; return of the trash deposit only with receipt and trash bag at the information booth on Sunday from 8:00 to 15:00, on the days before during the information booth's opening hours
Grilling only with suitable equipment; no open fire!
In case of "elevated fire danger," there is a complete grilling ban; in such a case, information will be published on the website a few days before the event

Instructions from security personnel must be followed without exception
General prohibition of weapons and animals on the campsite and festival grounds
Criminal charges in case of personal and property endangerment
In case of violation, immediate expulsion from the festival grounds by the police without any compensation claim
No bringing of personal beverages and recording devices onto the festival grounds
