Abendführungen in der Heiligen-Geist-Kapelle
Have you ever been to the Holy Ghost Chapel?
The architecturally exceptional building has been lovingly restored at the initiative of the Harnoncourt family and has been shining in new splendor for several years.
From May to September, you have the opportunity on the last Thursday of each month to get to know the chapel through unique evening tours with Gerd Prach.
For the first time, this will take place on May 28 at 7 p.m.
Admission is free, and no registration is required.
The Holy Spirit Church is unique in Europe due to its triangular construction. Inside, there is a hexagonal main room with a star ribbed vault. On the wall, one can find a foundation inscription from the citizens of Bruck with coats of arms – Pankraz Kornmeß, Michael Holzapfel, Leonhart Schierling, and Albrecht Dyem.
The uniqueness of the chapel lies in the fact that the triangular structure has three portals and above them three equally sized windows. In the opposite corners, there were also three altars at that time.
The orientation upwards was emphasized by a steep roof with triangular roof surfaces, which corresponded in their dimensions to the floor plan.
Such a church structure does not exist anywhere else in Europe.
