A physically demanding MTB trail through the countryside, featuring long gravel climbs, steep sections and varied descents around Rötz, Hohe Rötz and Silbersberg.
The Silbersberg Runde 810 is a challenging mountain bike tour for cyclists who are in good physical condition and have sound riding technique. Over a distance of around 22.5 kilometres, the route covers an elevation gain of approximately 720 metres.
Starting at the Krumpenloipe, the route first passes through Hafning and continues into the Rötzgraben. From the Hohe Rötz, it then heads up a long and, in places, very steep climb to the Silbersberg. Gradients of up to 20 per cent make this section the most physically demanding part of the tour.
In the area around the wind turbines, there are opportunities for a short break and views of the Klammkogel, the Trofaiach Basin and the surrounding mountains. This is followed by a varied and, in places, technically challenging descent towards Friedauwerk.
The high proportion of gravel and natural tracks, as well as the long sections away from busier roads, give the circuit its distinctive character.

The starting point is the car park by the Krumpenloipe on the B115 in Hafning.
The route initially follows the cycle path through Hafning towards Trofaiach. At the entrance to Trofaiach, the route branches off to the left towards the quartz quarry.
It continues along the quarry path into the Rötzgraben and then towards Hiaslegg. From there, the route branches off onto an old right-of-way towards Hohe Rötz and Vordernberg.
On the Hohe Rötz, you’ll pass the former Rötzhube workshouse. The particularly challenging climb towards Silbersberg then begins. On this section, you’ll face gradients of up to 20 per cent. The highest point of the circuit is reached in the area of the wind turbines.
At wind turbine no. 3, there is a rest area with seating and bike racks.
Important: From the appropriately signposted area onwards, cycling is prohibited in the direction of Klammkogel. It is essential to follow the on-site signage.
Afterwards, the descent towards Friedauwerk begins. In places, the route follows off-road tracks and an old sunken path. This section requires confident cycling skills.
In Trattning, you’ll pass a small wayside chapel. The route then follows the former Erzbergbahn railway line along the cycle path back to Hafning and to the starting point at the Krumpenloipe.
