How to get to ERZBERG LEOBEN

A glance at the map shows that ERZBERG LEOBEN is right in the heart of Austria and thus very centrally located. The villages are optimally connected in terms of public transport. And well-developed motorways lead directly to the region. Visitors coming here by train benefit from good connections to the popular holiday destination.

Getting here by car

From Vienna, take the A 23 Südosttangente motorway and the S 6 Semmeringer motorway in the direction of Leoben-Ost. After leaving the motorway, Leobener Bundesstraße B 116 takes you directly to the centre of the town.

From Munich, follow the A 8 in Germany, and then continue on the A 1 and A 9 in Austria. The towns of Mautern, Kammern and Traboch are located along the A 9. From the junction in St. Michael, the S 6 takes you to Leoben-West. The centre of Leoben can be reached via Turmgasse.

Getting here by train

The railway stations in Leoben and St. Michael are very centrally located. There are several train connections from Vienna as well as from Munich. Within the holiday region, numerous excursion destinations as well as the starting points of various hikes are easily accessible by public transport.

Getting here by plane

If you are travelling by plane, you can choose between two destination airports:

  • Vienna Airport (Lower Austria) is about one hour and 45 minutes away from Leoben by car.
  • From Graz Airport (Styria), your onward journey to the region will take about 45 minutes by car.

Mobility on site

From the train stations in Leoben and St. Michael, holidaymakers can get to the nearby towns quickly and easily with the buses of Verbundlinien. From Leoben, bus line 820 travels to Eisenerz at regular intervals. Bus line 830 takes its passengers comfortably from St. Michael to Wald am Schoberpass.

For day trips to Graz, the bus or train are a great choice as well. By train, you can reach Graz main station in one hour. Your bus journey starts at the main station in Leoben as well and ends at the FlixBus stop in Girardigasse in Graz.
