Winter hiking routes in the Erzberg-Leoben region

Explore snow-covered landscapes on foot

In Erzberg-Leoben, you can pursue your passion for hiking not just in summer, but in winter as well. When the region is covered in a white fluffy blanket of snow and the snow crystals sparkle in the sun, Erzberg-Leoben transforms into a true fairytale landscape.

Now all you have to do is strap on your snowshoes and go exploring!

The starting point of the hiking routes can also be reached without a car. Public transport takes winter hikers directly to their destination – in an environmentally friendly way! The Erzwanderweg snowshoe trail, for instance, starts with a bus ride from the main square in Vordernberg to Präbichl Passhöhe bus stop. From there, you can hike all the way to Vordernberg railway station in about two and a half hours. An easy route, especially for families.
