A short walk to a special natural attraction in Tragöß: the Marienklamm impresses with its narrow gorge, steep rock faces and extraordinary vegetation consisting of ferns and mosses.
To the north-east of Tragöß-Oberort, the Haringbach stream has, over the course of millennia, carved its way deep into the calcareous conglomerate rock, creating the Marienklamm gorge. The gorge, which is in places only a few metres wide, is flanked by rock faces up to 20 metres high, some of which overhang. High humidity and limited sunlight create special conditions within the gorge for ferns, mosses and other plants. The short walk starts at the Grüner See car park and leads via Tragöß-Oberort to the Haringgraben. After a short stretch through the woods, you reach the entrance to the Marienklamm, which is around 300 metres long.

Chargeable car park "Grüner See"

Daily fee: € 6,00

The starting point for the walk is the Grüner See car park in Tragöß-Oberort. From the car park, the path first leads to Tragöß-Oberort and then heads north along the tarmac road into the Haringgraben. After about one kilometre, the path branches off to the left towards Marienklamm. After a few minutes’ walk through the forest, you reach the entrance to the gorge. The narrow gorge stretches for around 300 metres. A little further up, a high bridge provides another route down into the Marienklamm area.

As an alternative route, the walk can be combined with the Kamplsteig.
Emergency call rescue: 144

Emergency reporting tip - give answers to six important questions: What happened? How many injured? Where did the accident happen (possibly GPS coordinates)? Who reported the accident (call-back number)? When did the accident happen? Weather at the accident site?

Proper backpacking makes many things easier: Pack heavy things first. The water bottle should always be within easy reach in a side pocket. All things that are often needed, such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map, belong on top. An emergency kit including blister plasters belongs in every rucksack and it is always advisable to put on different layers of clothing.
As an alternative route, you also have the option of walking via the Kamplsteig either before or after the Marienklamm.

With the BusBahnBim app of the Verbundlinie, timetable information has never been easier: all bus, train and tram connections in Austria can be queried by entering locations and/or addresses, stops or important points. The app is available as a free app for smartphones (Android, iOS) - on Google Play  and in the App Store.

Bus route 175 runs directly from Bruck an der Mur railway station to Tragöß-Oberort or to the Tragöß-Oberort Grüner See bus stop. Please note that not every journey starts or ends at the Tragöß-Oberort Grüner See bus stop (see the timetable for details). Please note!
The bus service at weekends is only available during the hiking season: 1 May to 1 November: Monday to Sunday | 2 November to 30 April: ONLY Monday to Friday (bus timetable)
