In the middle of the Ausseerland Salzkammergut lies the network of trails with the center Bad Mitterndorf, extending up to Tauplitz and Pichl/Kainisch. Alternatively, there are also trails on the Tauplitzalm. On about 160 kilometers, there is a suitable path for every taste – and every endurance. How about a round around the romantically snow-covered Ödensee? Or a tour to the Kulm with its impressive ski flying ramp? Strap in and hit the trails in the cross-country ski region around Bad Mitterndorf. To explore all the trails here, one should bring along a little time. It doesn't matter whether you prefer a sporty-active or a cozy-relaxed approach: there is plenty of choice here.
An impressive natural backdrop provides the perfect setting. And during the subsequent stop, you can indulge yourself: Traditional cuisine and rustic hut gastronomy directly at the trails ensure your culinary wellbeing, while wellness fans can fully enjoy the nearby Grimming Therme.

Daily when snow conditions are suitable from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
Outside of operating hours, the use of the cross-country ski trails is prohibited due to grooming work!

The ascent and descent rides can be used once a day.

Is there a luggage storage option in Bad Mitterndorf?
- Luggage Storage
There is no luggage storage at the train stations. The information offices in Tauplitz and Bad Mitterndorf offer luggage storage during office hours in the information offices for 4.00 euros per piece of luggage.
- Lockers on the Tauplitzalm: Practical, Safe and Sustainable
Since the winter season 2024/2025, you have the option to securely store your personal items for free on the Tauplitzalm. Right at the parking area on the mountain, you can comfortably stow your bags, backpacks, and other items before heading out onto the cross-country ski trails. You will need a 2.00-euro coin as a deposit for the lockers.
Especially practical: The day pass for the cross-country ski trails includes a one-time free ascent and descent with the bus of the Alpine road or with the 4-person chairlift of the Tauplitz cable cars. Take the opportunity to reach the mountain sustainably and stress-free while benefiting from our new locker service.
With this offer, we want to provide you with more comfort and also contribute to sustainability by providing you a practical changing and storage option right on site.
- The ascent is only included in the day pass for the ski trails and in the season pass 2025/26 Plus.
