As part of the community structure reform in Styria, the municipality has been merged since 2015 with the municipalities of Fladnitz im Raabtal, Oberdorf am Hochegg, and Studenzen.

Kirchberg an der Raab is a municipality with 4,574 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2025) in East Styria, about ten kilometers west of the district capital Feldbach.
Kirchberg is located on the upper reaches of the Raab, where the Raab bends eastward. The town and the church are situated on a hill that rises 70 meters above the valley, southwest of the river's course. The municipality extends south of the Raab onto the hills of the East Styrian hill country, where the districts of Wörth and Hof are located.
