Kirchberg an der Raab

Kirchberg is a place to live and the surrounding area is like a picture book of nature. This is especially evident along the cycling and hiking trails. Along the river Raab runs also the national cycle path R11 - the Raabtalradweg. This invites not only for cycling, but also for inline skating, running, Nordic walking and hiking.

Kirchberg an der Raab can also be explored from below. In the Urlas forest, an underground passage was created around 1870 by a farmer so that he could mine gravel during the winter months. The historical association for the Kirchberger Ländchen has made it its business to explore the numerous passages and caves in the area in Urlas cave system. Yes, in Kirchberg an der Raab there is also a magnificent castle from the old days, but it is privately owned and not open to visitors. 

The Advent season is celebrated in a special way in Kirchberg an der Raab. Around the church, one discovers "gates to the light" at 24 stations. The spiritual Advent wreath was designed by the artist Albert Rauscher. The church and the surrounding trees are wrapped in a warm magical light and thriving green.

For all sun worshippers, the water lily bath is available. In the natural bathing lake, which was built in an existing fish pond, one splashes completely chemical-free. The chosen shape of the bathing facility is symbolic of a water lily - the inspiration for this was taken from the adjacent water lily pond.
