In the heart of Feldbach, within the walls of the former cinema café, a venue opened on July 11, 2026 that can best be described as: uncomplicated, sociable, and thoroughly Vulkanland.
The **Feld** is a modern buffet restaurant for daytime – intended for everyone who wants to have a quick and good lunch, just as much as for those who wish to sit down and relax.

The special aspect is already in the name. What is served here has a short journey behind it: from the field to the market, from the market to the restaurant. All food and drinks come from the adjacent regional market Bauernstadl – and thus from the Styrian Vulkanland.

A venue as the final piece of a chain

For Bauernstadl managing director David Trummer, the Feld is already the third business at this location and, as he says, the last missing puzzle piece. After the regional market and the hotel Quartier am Bauernstadl, the market restaurant completes a circle: the Feld is a culinary extension of the market and simultaneously serves breakfast for the guests of the hotel located directly above.

All cooking is done exclusively with ingredients from the Bauernstadl. This simplifies purchasing and inventory management for the regional market – and strengthens the regional cycle as well. “Practically speaking, it helps us make less waste because we can respond more flexibly to seasonal production," explains Trummer. “But not only that: finally you can taste your way through the region – and in a typically cozy and simple way."

Breakfast, lunch, a glass of wine

Food is at the center. Whether a quick lunch from the buffet or an extensive breakfast on the terrace designed by Andreas Stern, alongside a coffee or a glass of wine from the region: the Feld aims to be primarily a place where people come together simply and enjoy good food.

Culinarily, the constant meets the seasonal. Some dishes remain a fixed part of the menu, while others change according to what the region currently has to offer.
