Discover the 5.5 km circular hiking trail (G3) amidst the green splendor of Eastern Styria. Ideal for families, it leads through the forests and meadows from the Wohlfühlhotel Wiesenhof in Erdwegen to the 'Beistein' viewpoint.

Discover the imposing local mountain, the Beistein, on a hike through the picturesque communities of Eichberg, Stambach, Lafnitz and Grafendorf near Hartberg. This mighty rock in the forest is the landmark of Erdwegen. The idyllic hiking trail 'Kleine Beistein-Wanderung' (G3) leads up to the heights via places of happiness and power.

At the Beistein, a breathtaking view of the Styrian and Burgenland hill country awaits you. Here you can linger and enjoy the silence. Interestingly, the Celts already prayed at this place on full moon nights.

The 'Kleine Beistein-Wanderung' (G3) finally leads you to Erdwegen near Grafendorf near Hartberg. This market town in the East Styrian hill country, at the foot of the Masenberg, is rich in cultural sights. Grafendorf is surrounded by a wooded landscape of hills and meadows and is one of the traditional summer resorts of the southern Wechsel region.

Hospitality has a long tradition here and the historical sights and traditional festivals will make your visit an experience!

Grafendorf, Wohlfühl Hotel Wiesenhofer

Start of the approx. 5.5 km long, signposted tour (G3) is at the Wohlfühlhotel Wiesenhof in Erdwegen,

we walk along the Grub street, past the Marterln and Marienhof,
before the farm of the Lutzmann family we turn right into the forest,
we follow the forest path until the crossroads Beistein (wonderful panoramic view),
further we go right along the edge of the forest
about 500 meters down,
turn right into the forest path andback again to the Wohlfühlhotel Wiesenhof

The trail can be walked without any major difficulties and is therefore suitable for the whole family.

Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time.
Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts & Co have no place in the forest!
Please make sure that you do not leave any trash in the forest.
Camping and making fire - is strictly forbidden in the forest!
Basically, each person is allowed to collect 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day in the forest for personal use. It is only forbidden if the forest owner expressly prohibits it.
