A challenging cycling tour with impressive views.

This loop tour begins in Ratten and takes us over the Feistritzsattel into the “Bucklige Welt” region of Lower Austria. We then head back into Styria along the Lower Austrian side of the Wechsel region and return to Ratten via the northern part of the Hartbergerland.

Via the A2 - Südautobahn and the S6 Semmering expressway to Krieglach. From there via the Alpl to the Joglland - Waldheimat region.

From Graz: Via the B72 to Weiz and on to Ratten in the Joglland - Waldheimat region.

Public parking lot at the municipal office in Ratten, Kirchenviertel 211

We start this round trip in Ratten and drive along the L 407 to Rettenegg
Along the Feistritzsattelstraße, we drive over the Feistritzsattel along the L175 to Ottenthal in Lower Austria
We then continue on the L 134 to Kirchberg am Wechsel
In the town, we turn right onto the L 137 via St. Corona am Wechsel to Aspang Markt
Before we reach Aspang Markt, we turn right uphill towards Mönichkirchen
We follow the signs. From Mönichkirchen, we drive downhill on the B 54 to Dirnegg. There we turn right again towards Pinggau
We drive through Friedberg on the municipal road to Rohrbach an der Lafnitz
We take the L 429 to Eichberg and the L 405 to Vorau
From Vorau, we take the L 408 to Wenigzell and continue until we merge onto the L 407.
Turning right, we arrive directly in Ratten.

Plan your tour carefully!
Check your bike before you set off!
Always ride with the right protective equipment!
Always ride with a helmet!
Don't forget all your equipment (repair kit, first aid kit, etc.)!
Only ride on marked paths!
Observe the road traffic regulations!
Observe driving bans and keep to opening times!
Control your speed!
Leave no tracks!
Respect other nature users!
Show consideration for animals (only ride in daylight & close pasture fences)!
Avoid noise and garbage!
Use the cycle paths at your own risk!

Beware of working machines, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock and vehicle traffic (forest roads are working areas and workplaces)! A few tips on correct and fair behavior: Cycling and mountain biking in the forest (oesterreich.gv.at)

Cyclists should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time.

Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any garbage in the forest.

Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest!
