This section of the Weizer Almenland Bike Tour leads from Weiz via the Landscha to St. Kathrein/Offenegg.

The Weiz Almenland Cycle Tour connects the district capital of Weiz with the Almenland. With this tour, a seamless cycle path connection was created from the Hungarian border town of Szentgotthárd (Raabtalradweg) to the Almenland.

The district capital of Weiz is located in eastern Styria and is very easy to reach via the A2 motorway from Vienna (approx. 2 hrs) and Graz (approx. 30 min).

Arrival from Vienna and from Graz:

On the A2 coming from Vienna and from Graz, take motorway exit 161 / Gleisdorf West in the direction of B54/B64. Follow the B65 / Gleisdorfer Bundesstraße until you reach the B54 / Wechselbundesstraße. At the roundabout, take the second exit north to the B64 / Rechberg-Bundesstraße. After approx. 15 km you will reach the town of Weiz.
From Graz via the main road: Take Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai and Wickenburggasse to Jahngasse / B67a. Follow the B72 to Weiz and take the exit towards Weiz -West.

Stadthalle, Weiz (subject to charge)

The tour starts opposite the town hall at the swimming pool in Weiz.
From there, we take a direct ascent (Landschaweg) past the town hall and over the Weizberg with the striking pilgrimage church ‘Basilika am Weizberg’.
Here we keep straight and come to Landschastrasse. Here we turn left uphill.
From here we cycle to Landscha-Eben and keep straight ahead.
We cycle along the Patschastrasse past the village of Hart.
Shortly after the Patschabauern farm, the route continues to the left on a forest road over the Patscha saddle and on to Greith.
The route then continues via Kogl to Zeil in St. Kathrein/Offenegg.
There we can visit wonderful excursion destinations or simply take a cosy break in one of the numerous restaurants.

Beware of working machines, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock and vehicle traffic (forest roads are working areas and workplaces)!

Sporty clothing is required! Bicycle helmet! Elbow and knee pads if necessary, back and shin protectors, mountain bike shoes
A first aid kit is always included.
A basic set of tools and accessories - such as spare inner tube, repair kit, wrench/puller, air pump - never hurts.

Don't forget rain protection, sunglasses and a water bottle, as well as
Bike map, pocket knife, headlamp, cell phone holder for the handlebars if necessary, reflectors
