The touring mountain bike route "Der große Jogl" leads through all the municipalities of the Joglland - Waldheimat region and shows their diversity and most beautiful places.
"Der große Jogl" leads once around the region Joglland - Waldheimat on the most different ways, roads and trails. Many places, such as the Hochwechsel or the Masenberg convince with the fantastic view. Again and again, huts or rustic inns invite you to stay, the certified Bed & Bike establishments along the route are particularly suitable for overnight stays on this multi-day tour. Due to the individual division of the stages (2-4 days), this tour is ideally suited for all cyclists, extreme cyclists may complete the tour with its approximately 200 km and 5600 meters of altitude in one day.

Variant 2 of the tour "Der große Jogl" leads from the Toten Mann over the Wildwiese to the next connection point, the former Gasthof Kreuzwirt.

A special service along the tour "Der große Jogl" is the luggage transport - just cycle carefree, without annoying extra luggage. While you are on the way, your luggage will be brought to your next stage destination (by 17:00 at the latest).

The municipality, which covers around fifteen square kilometers, is located on a gently rising terrace in the East Styrian mountains and hills.
By car:
From Vienna: via the A2 to the Pinggau exit, then follow the B54 towards Hartberg to Rohrbach a. d. Lafnitz; continue via Riegersberg to Vorau to Miesenbach
 
From Graz: via the A2 to the Gleisdorf West exit; then follow the B64 towards Weiz; continue on the B72 via Nöstl and Birkfeld to Miesenbach
Miesenach, innmunicipality, primary school (free)
  • We start in Miesenbach   
  • Immediately we pass the Gasthof Wiesenhofer to the Schloffereck   
  • From the Schloffereck we drive briefly on the country road   
  • Then we turn into a forest and drive to the Masenberg   
  • From here we drive in the direction of the market place   
  • We cross the main road and follow the Dörflweg   
  • After about 2 km we turn into a forest until we reach an asphalt road.   
  • From the asphalt road we drive to Waldbach-Mönichwald   
  • We continue in the direction of the Hochwechsel lifts to Mönichwalder Schwaig   
  • From there we continue to the Hochwechsel   
  • Via the Rabl-Kreuz hut we drive to the Arzberg hut   
  • From the Arzberghütte our tour continues to St. Jakob im Walde   
  • Now we continue to Rettenegg   
  • We follow the main road until we make the next detour to the Pretul in Ratten   
  • We follow the main route in the direction of St. Kathrein am Hauenstein   
  • At the mining settlement we turn right onto Alpl   
  • Now we drive over the Waldtoni Alm to Fischbach    From Fischbach we continue to Birkfeld   
  • From Birkfled we ride about 4 km on the R8 Feistritztalradweg and turn off to Strallegg   
  • Now we pass the village center in the direction of the ski lift   
  • After the Jausenstation Posch we keep to the right and cycle through a forest to Wenigzell   
  • In Wenigzell we pass the church until we reach the crossing point "Toter Mann".   
  • From here we ride comfortably back to Miesenbach

On the overall tour "Der große Jogl" - Variant 1: via Miesenbach we have now completed about 180 kilometers and 5200 meters of altitude.

Fair play rules for cyclists

  • Plan your tour carefully!
  • Check your bike before you set off!
  • Always ride with the right protective equipment!
  • Always ride with a helmet!
  • Don't forget all your equipment (repair kit, first aid kit, etc.)!
  • Only ride on marked paths!
  • Observe the road traffic regulations!
  • Observe driving bans and keep to opening times!
  • Control your speed!
  • Leave no tracks!
  • Respect other nature users!
  • Show consideration for animals (only ride in daylight & close pasture fences)!
  • Avoid noise and garbage!
  • Use the cycle paths at your own risk!

Beware of working machines, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock and vehicle traffic (forest roads are working areas and workplaces)! A few tips on correct and fair behavior: Cycling and mountain biking in the forest (oesterreich.gv.at)

  • Cyclists should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time.
  • Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any garbage in the forest.
  • Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest!
