In order to explore the culinary highlights and the most beautiful viewpoints between Birkfeld and Koglhof by bike, there will be a cycle path connecting all of this from 2024!

Coming from Vienna: A9 motorway - via Alpl or Hartberg, direction Birkfeld

- Birkfeld railway stationturn left up to the crossroads / Gasthof Dunst
- Follow the road through the market town of Birkfeld past various places to stop for refreshments
- Straight roundabout (second exit) follow the road up to the crossroads (after the Felber car dealership) turn right
- Turn right after the sports café / tennis centre and follow the road
- Turn left at the EsserkreuzFollow the road to Haslau / Baumgartnermühle
- At the Baumgartnermühle inn, turn left and follow the main road to the Haslau junction
- Turn right at the crossroads and then immediately left again (towards the sports field), but if you continue to the right here, you will come to the Kulmer fish restaurant after approx. 200m
- Follow the road uphill over a small bridge
- After a large farm, turn leftFollow the signs to Koglhof
- Turn left at the crossroads until you reach the St. Georgen crossroadsTurn right uphill here and follow the road The Grünbichler inn next to the church in St. Georgen and the Kreml organic farm are located directly on the road
- Follow the road down towards Koglhof
- Here you pass the summer toboggan run with motor skills park and restaurant
- Passing the petrol station with a food vending machine, you have already reached your destination at the B72 bakery & snack bar, where the former Koglhof railway station is also located

- Don't forget all your equipment (repair kit, first aid kit, etc.)!
- Only ride on marked paths!
- Observe the road traffic regulations!
- Observe driving bans and keep to opening times!
- Control your speed!
- Leave no tracks!
- Respect other nature users!
- Show consideration for animals (only ride in daylight & close pasture fences)!
- Avoid noise and garbage!
- Use the cycle paths at your own risk!
- Beware of working machines, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock and vehicle traffic (forest roads are working areas and workplaces)! A few tips on correct and fair behavior: Cycling and mountain biking in the forest (oesterreich.gv.at)
- Cyclists should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time.
- Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any garbage in the forest.
- Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest!
