More information
Take the S6 to the Kindberg - Mürztal - Fischbach exit, or go via Birkfeld to Fischbach.
The Styrian main route of the alpannonia® hiking trail begins in the center of Fischbach with an ascent to the so-called “Zellerkreuz.” The trail continues to the Almtor, from where a side trail leads to the summit of the Teufelstein (1,499 m) in about 15 minutes. The Teufelstein is home to Styria’s oldest alpine place of worship. From Almtor, the trail continues at a leisurely pace without any major inclines toward Alpl. From Alpl, the trail climbs steadily to the Rattener Alm with its striking wind farm. From there, you reach the Rosegger shelter via alpine meadows.
Tip: Take a detour to Peter Rosegger’s birthplace and the forest school. At Alpl, you can visit the forest school founded by Peter Rosegger.
