From Vienna via the A2 Südautobahn highway and the S6 Semmering expressway to the Krieglach/Alpl exit. From there in the direction of Birkfeld on the B72.

From Graz via the Weizer-Bundesstraße B72 in the direction of Ratten, located directly on the B 72.

From Linz/Salzburg/Munich via the Pyhrnautobahn A9 and the Semmering expressway S6 to the Krieglach/Alpl exit. Continue as above.

Falkenstein, Inn Mosbacher (free)

We start at Gasthof Mosbacher and hike trail no. 25 towards Falkenstein village.
We hike along the Sulzbach stream to the Sulzer estate
At the crossroads, we keep left and continue straight ahead on trail no. 24
At the next crossroads, we turn right onto trail no. 21 until it finally joins trail no. 20.
In Falkenstein village, we first turn right and then, after about 150 meters, left (towards the fire station) onto trail no. 23.
From there, the route descends through several farms to the Feistritztal Cycle Path No. 8.
Turning right, we arrive back at the Mosbacher inn.
This path is always cleared (because it is the access road to the houses and farms) and is therefore also suitable for strollers and hikers.

Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time.

Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest.

Camping and lighting fires are strictly forbidden in the forest!

In principle, every person is allowed to pick 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day for personal use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.

Route description
Before starting the hike, check the possibilities for refreshments, including opening times, or pack appropriate food and drink.

We recommend a stop off at the Gasthof Mosbacher.
