This challenging tour leads from Weiz through the beautiful apple country along apple orchards to Albersdorf. From there you can cycle comfortably back to Weiz on the R11
There are wine taverns along the route that invite you to take a break. Almost the entire route leads along side roads with little traffic.

This tour is only recommended for cyclists in good physical condition as there are over 700 meters of altitude to conquer.

The district capital Weiz is located in Eastern Styria and is easily accessible via the A2 from Vienna (approx. 2 hours) and Graz from Graz (approx. 30 minutes).
  • Arrival from Vienna and Graz: On the A2 from Vienna, take highway exit 161/Gleisdorf West in the direction of B 54/B64. Follow the B65 / Gleisdorfer Bundesstraße until you reach the B54 / Wechselbundesstraße. At the traffic circle, take the second exit to the B64 / Rechberg-Bundesstraße. After about 15 km you will reach the district capital Weiz.
  • Coming from Graz via the federal highway: take Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai and Wickenburggasse to Jahngasse / B67a. Follow the B72 to Weiz and take the exit towards Weiz -West.

Route planner


Hotel Allmer (kostenlos)

  • We start our tour at the junction near the Hotel Restaurant Allmer.
  • At the roundabout, we take the first exit and head out of town.
  • We cross a small stream and immediately take a sharp left at the first right-hand bend.
  • We follow the road until we reach the Schlosstaverne Thannhausen.
  • Here, we turn right into Schlossgasse.
  • At the top, we turn left and follow Oberfladnitzstraße.
  • Before entering the forest, we turn left into Raastraße and follow the road through Trennstein.
  • At the next intersection, we keep right and pass through the village of Trog.
  • Upon reaching the B72, we follow the road for a few meters and then turn right into Unterfeistritzstraße.
  • Just before reaching the village of Unterfeistritz, we turn right into Hartstraße.
  • We pass through the village of Harl and continue to Puch bei Weiz.
  • In Puch, after the Meißl inn, we turn left uphill into Reichendorferstraße.
  • At the next intersection, we turn right onto Pesharlweg.
  • Passing through the village of Pesharl, we arrive in Pircha.
  • In the center of the village, we keep left and then turn right uphill into Wongrabenweg.
  • Heading downhill, we reach the L360 Ilztalstraße.
  • We turn left and follow it to Rollsdorf.
  • After the Reicher inn, we turn right and drive through Lohngraben to Prebuch.
  • In Prebuch, we turn right into Altenbergweg and follow it until we see Postelgrabenweg on the right.
  • We follow Postelgrabenweg downhill until we reach the village of the same name.
  • From here, the route continues to Niesenpoint and then to Albersdorf.
  • At the crossroads, we keep right and continue to Wollsdorf.
  • Passing through Wollsdorf, we take the underpass and follow the side road of the B64 towards St. Ruprecht.
  • On the right-hand side, we eventually see Locker Pond and continue straight ahead.
  • After a short while, we need to cross the railway platform.
  • We continue on Dietmannsdorfer Straße and then into Feldgasse. Continuing straight ahead, we reach another underpass named “Hauptweg.”
  • Passing the company Lieb Stiege, the route leads us to Neudorf bei St. Ruprecht an der Raab and further to Unterfladnitz.
  • At the former Heinzl inn, we turn right onto the old federal road, and after a while, turn right again towards Farcha.
  • From Farcha, Regerstättenweg leads us right to Regerstätten.
  • Continuing straight ahead, we pass through the village of Krottendorf and finally return to our starting point at Hotel Restaurant Allmer.

  • Always ride with the right protective equipment!
  • Always ride with a helmet!
  • Don't forget all your equipment (repair kit, first aid kit, etc.)!
  • Only ride on marked paths!
  • Observe the road traffic regulations!
  • Observe driving bans and keep to opening times!
  • Control your speed!
  • Do not leave any tracks!
  • Respect other nature users!
  • Show consideration for animals (ride in daylight & close pasture fences)!
  • Avoid noise and garbage!
  • Use the cycle paths at your own risk!
  • Beware of working machines, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock and vehicle traffic (forest roads are working areas and workplaces)!

  • The tour is suitable for all types of bikes.
  • Sporty clothing is advisable. Bicycle helmet!
  • A first aid kit is always included.
  • A basic set of tools and accessories - such as spare inner tube, repair kit, wrench/puller, air pump - never hurts.
  • Bike map, pocket knife, cell phone holder for the handlebars if necessary, headlamp and reflectors
