This road bike tour takes us from Ratten to Rettenegg via the Pfaffensattel pass to the Mürztal valley. The return route takes us from Krieglach via the Alpl pass back to Ratten.

Via the A2 - Südautobahn and the S6 Semmering expressway to Krieglach. From there via the Alpl to the Joglland - Waldheimat region.

From Graz: Via the B72 to Weiz and on to Ratten in the Joglland - Waldheimat region.

Public parking lot at the municipal office in Ratten, Kirchenviertel 211

We start this round trip in the center of Ratten and drive via Rettenegg over the Pfaffensattel on the L 117 towards Steinhaus am Semmering.
There we take the L 118 to Steinhaus and Spittal am Semmering, Mürzzuschlag, and Langenwang towards Krieglach Schwöbing, where we turn left onto the L 130 Schwöbinger Straße towards Alpl.
We take the B 72 from Alpl to St. Kathrein am Hauenstein until we finally return to Ratten via the L407.

Avoid noise and garbage!
Use the cycle paths at your own risk!

Beware of working machines, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock and vehicle traffic (forest roads are working areas and workplaces)! A few tips on correct and fair behavior: Cycling and mountain biking in the forest (oesterreich.gv.at)

Cyclists should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time.

Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any garbage in the forest.

Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest!
