From Vienna via the A2 southern motorway and the S6 Semmering motorway to the Kindberg exit. Here through the Stanzertal valley on the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.

From Graz via the Weizer-Bundesstraße B72 to Birkfeld and from here via the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.

From Linz/Salzburg/Munich via the A9 Pyhrn motorway and the S6 Semmering motorway to the Kindberg exit. Continue as above.

Starting from the village square in Fischbach, we first walk in the direction of the church, past the school and continue in the direction of Birkfeld until we turn right in the direction of Elmleiten
There, trail no. 13 - the so-called Moosweg - branches off
On this path we walk pleasantly on mossy ground until we reach path no. 14 - the fern trail
We walk back along this path in a forest littered with ferns
Then we return via the main road to the starting point in Fischbach

Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time.

Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest.

Camping and lighting fires are strictly forbidden in the forest!

In principle, every person is allowed to pick 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day for personal use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.

Before starting the hike, check the possibilities for refreshments, including opening times, or pack appropriate food and drink.

We recommend a visit by the Minigolf course and the bathing lake!
