This hike takes you from the flower village of Strallegg up with beautiful views into the Feistritztal and back to the village. After about 150 hm you come to the “Grauen Steinwand” and then along the Kalten Brunnweg to the Posch snack station.

The tour starts in the flower village of Strallegg. The floral decorations in the Strallegg area are worth seeing in summer.

Strallegg is located in the East Styrian mountains. The municipal area rises from around 600 meters in the southwest to over 1000 meters.

By car:
From Graz: via the A2 (towards Vienna) to the Gleisdorf-West exit, follow the B54 and B 64 to Weiz, then continue on the B72 towards Ratten, Strallegg

From Vienna: Take the A2 (toward Graz) to the Seebenstein interchange, then take the S6 (toward St. Michael) to the Krieglach exit, then continue on the B72 via Alpl (toward Birkfeld,
Strallegg)

In Strallegg, we use the information board to find our way and follow Trail 13 turning right at the intersection near the Mosbacher Inn.

After a short while, we turn left onto a side street and hike througt the populated areas until we reach a farm on the right at the edge of the forest, where we continue on.
We continue to follow Trail 13 to the summit of Grauer Stein, 1,072 m, where there is also an information board.

A few tips on correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: www.bundesforste.at )

Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time.

Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest.

Camping and lighting fires are strictly forbidden in the forest!

In principle, every person is allowed to pick 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day for personal use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.

Route description
Before starting the hike, check the possibilities for refreshments, including opening times, or pack appropriate food and drink.

A great excursion destination on this route is the rock painting and stone museum. The Gasthof Almblick provides culinary delights.
