From the spa town of Bad Waltersdorf, the hike leads through the gentle rolling hills of Eastern Styria. Passing through Auffen and the orchards of the Hartberg region, the trail enters the
Pöllauer Tal Nature Park, home to the historic market town of Pöllau and the Pöllauberg pilgrimage church. The ascent to the Masenberg, one of the region’s most scenic panoramic peaks, rewards hikers with sweeping views stretching all the way to the Alpine foothills. The route continues to the impressive Augustinian Canons’ Abbey in Vorau via St. Lorenzen am Wechsel, through the varied landscape of the Joglland region, and on to Friedberg and Pinggau.
