In the heart of the Styrian Joglland lies the Vorau Healthy Region, which comprises the municipalities of Vorau, Vornholz, Puchegg, Schachen and Riegersberg. Vorau is known above all for the only active Augustinian canon monastery.
Numerous culinary highlights await cyclists along this route. Traditional cider taverns in particular invite you to linger and enjoy. In combination with cycling through the beautiful landscape of Joglland, this tour is a particularly enjoyable experience!

Vorau, Vorau Abbey (free)
  • We start our cycle tour at Sitft Vorau and ride in the direction of Masenberg
  • First we cycle downhill until we reach the Brühl after approx. 100 meters, but immediately afterwards there is a steep uphill section to Gasthof Glatz “Kagerwirt” in Puchegg
  • We continue cycling on an asphalt road towards Masenberg
  • After a section through a wooded area and on gravel roads, we reach the crossroads on the Masenberg
  • Here we can make a detour to the Masenberg or to the wind turbines and the “Olmstoll”. The Glückskapelle chapel would be waiting for us at the summit of the Masenberg
  • However, we stay on the local road and continue until we reach the former Gasthof Lembäcker inn
  • We reach the municipality of Vornholz via a short forest path and a section on the main road
  • On the main road, we immediately turn left and make a detour to “Chrizzly's Hütte”. We could also take a break here and play a game of mini golf
  • We then follow the municipal road until we come back to Markt Vorau and could return to the starting point
  • However, we cycle on through the market to the town hall, cross the archway and head towards Riegersberg
  • We cycle past the Brennerwirt inn to the Forsterhöhe and make a short stop at the Hubertus Chapel
  • Then we continue on our way to the next cider tavern, the “Kuchlbauer”
  • From here it is not far back to our starting point, Vorau Abbey
