Windpark Steinriegel - Pretul

From the municipality of Rettenegg one hikes up the Alpannonia Zubringer Trail to the 1,656 meters high Pretul. From there, one can enjoy a magnificent mountain panorama and admire the Ratten Wind Farm. For those who wish to go a little higher on the Pretul, there is the Peter-Bergner-Warte. According to a legend, this small viewing platform was built for the murdered hut keeper Peter Bergner.

At the Pretul, there is the possibility to stay overnight at the Schutzhütte Roseggerhaus or to refresh oneself. The hut is a suitable accommodation option for those who want to continue hiking from here on the Alpannonia long-distance hiking trail, which leads all the way into the Hungarian plains to Köszeg. But shorter tours are also possible from the Pretul, such as a walk to the Ratten Wind Farm or a hiking tour to the next peak, the Stuhleck.
