Rustic alpine inn with a wonderful view!
The Vorauer Schwaig, located at 1,511 meters above sea level, can be reached on foot or by car via the toll road via Festenburg.
Hiking trails from Bruck/Lafnitz, Waldbach/Mönichwald and St. Lorenzen lead directly to the alpine hut via forest roads or marked paths. The friendly hospitality with snacks and drinks is popular with hikers and visitors alike.
The Vorauer Schwaig offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Vorauer Tal valley and the Masenberg mountain opposite with its four wind turbines.
The Hochwechsel, with an altitude of 1,743 meters, is about an hour's walk from the Vorauer Schwaig and is only open in summer (from the alpine pasture drive in June).

The Vorauer Schwaig opens on the first Saturday in June and closes on the first Saturday in September.
