Open-air classroom with a view of the castle and the church

The outdoor classroom is located on a hill under an old hornbeam grove at the western edge of the castle park in Pöllau. Sitting in the rows of benches, one has a magnificent view of the churches of Pöllau and Pöllauberg: a perfect setting for knowledge transfer, research, and discovery or simply to sit quietly and relax.

The covered area with 32 tiered seats and tables (the first row is wheelchair accessible), a teaching materials room with cooking facilities, as well as power and water connections, serves our certified nature park schools as a classroom for nature-oriented teaching. However, the outdoor classroom is also a popular place for seminars, lectures, project weeks, and rural school weeks. Seminars can be arranged for 5 to a maximum of 30 people. However, there is no technology available on site.

"SAM" stands for "Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark" and closes the mobility gap where buses and trains do not operate. The nearest SAM stop near the outdoor classroom is HF 5943 (Pöllau/Castle-Zwinger), and you can find more stops here.
