Loretto - Chapel

The Loretto Chapel Mitterberg is located in the municipality of Sankt Johann in der Haide in Styria on a forest clearing between Altenberg, Mitterberg and Unterrohr. It is a small chapel that is now a popular meeting place for religious purposes as well as for hikers and walkers. In the past, the inhabitants of the parish of St. Magdalena, Unterrohr, St. Johann in der Haide and many others marched in droves to this Loretto chapel from all sides, singing and praying. Even today there is still the "star walk" of the three parishes to the chapel.
