The Gasthof Hofbauer is located in the nature park community of Breitenau, at the foot of the Hochlantsch. The Hofbauer family invites you to enjoy specialties from the region and their own fallow deer enclosure in a cozy atmosphere.

The traditional Austrian cuisine ranges from Wiener schnitzel and fried chicken salad to boiled beef to Kaiserschmarren and homemade desserts. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available. Special mention should be made of the fallow deer specialties from our own farm. As a nature park partner company, great importance is attached to regionality: meat from the Pierer butcher in Passail, fish from Kulmer in Haslau, eggs from Moarhofhechtl from Passail, schnapps from the Graf family from St. Kathrein / O. and much more! And in addition to the many products that are processed into hearty dishes, there are Austrian wines and fresh fruit juices from the region.

In addition to the restaurant, the inn also offers 12 double rooms for a holiday in Breitenau. Either you hike the peaks directly from the inn, or you take the SAM shuttle service to be brought to the Teichalm or Sommeralm or to other starting points. The hikes through the Bärenschützklamm towards Schüsserlbrunn or to the Teichalm and Sommeralm are particularly popular. The "Drachentour" mountain bike route also passes right by the inn.
